Gainsborough & the Movement for Religious Liberty – Talk

Three men with Gainsborough links have played a significant role in the development of global thinking about religious liberty, influencing the American constitution and the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Adrian Gray will explain how their thinking developed in the early 1600’s at a time of great persecution, arguing for an end to all laws about religious belief and how their writings are arguably Gainsborough’s greatest contribution to the world today. Admission is the usual £4 and Tea and Biscuits are available during the interval (donations gratefully accepted).
