Marshall's drawings

Gainsborough Heritage Association is the custodian of the Marshall's Drawing Collection. These include traction engines, road rollers, some steamrollers and a few portables. We have over 10,000 Marshall drawings in our collection and are currently working hard to catalogue them all. This is a painstaking task being undertaken by our team of volunteers.

If you require any information about a specific machine please contact us and we will search through the drawings we have already catalogued and let you know if we have the ones you want. If we subsequently find drawings you’ve asked about, we will let you know. We have a dedicated enquiry line for this via email on marshalls at gainsboroughheritage.com or visit our contacts page for details.

If you would like us to search for drawings of your machine, we need:

  • The model name of your machine and horse-power and/or the drawing number from the build sheet.

We can arrange to have copies made of any of the drawings we do have.

If you don’t have a build sheet for your machine. They can be bought from R H Crawford & Son who have an extensive collection of build sheets for traction engines, steam traction engines and road rollers.

For  boilers, stationary engines, threshing machines that were exported, tractors and railway try the Museum of English Rural Life.

Drawing Lists

We have two drawing lists currently available. These are lists of drawings we have available for these machines, each one has the drawing number, date of the drawing and a description of the drawing. They are not build sheets.
