Marshall's drawings

Gainsborough Heritage Association is the custodian of the Marshall's Drawing Collection. These include traction engines, road rollers, some steamrollers and a few portables. The Centre has over 10,000 Marshall drawings in the collection and are currently working hard to catalogue the collection. This is a massive task being undertaken by the Centre's team of volunteers.

If you require any information about a specific machine please contact us and the staff will search through the drawings the Centre has already catalogued and let you know if the archives have the particular drawing. If staff subsequently locate drawings that the Centre has had an enquiry about then the staff will be in touch. The Centre has a dedicated enquiry line for drawings by email on [email protected] or visit the contacts page for further details.

If you would like us to search for drawings of your machine, the Centre requires the model name of your machine and horse-power and/or the drawing number from the build sheet. The Centre can arrange to have copies made of the drawings the Centre holds within the archive for a fee.

If you do not have a build sheet for your machine then they can be bought from R H Crawford & Son who have an extensive collection of build sheets for traction engines, steam traction engines and road rollers. For boilers, stationary engines, threshing machines, tractors, that were exported then please contact the Museum of English Rural Life.

Drawing Lists

The Centre has two drawing lists currently available. These are lists of drawings the Centre has available for these machines, each one has the drawing number, date of the drawing and a description of the drawing. They are not build sheets.

We also have the following list of drawings that are printed and ready for sale, to purchase any of these please get in touch.
