“Heroines of the Home Front” Exhibition

The Heritage Centre’s current temporary exhibition is courtesy of Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire and during February is exploring “Heroines of the Home Front.” The “Heroines of the Home Front” exhibition examines the different ways women contributed to the war effort during 1914-18, and focuses on changes in their social status before, during and after this period. Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire worked in partnership with Imperial War Museums to research and create the exhibitions educational resources. Due to project funders requirements’ the exhibition can be accessed for free at the Centre to explore the history behind Lincolnshire’s Heroes and Heroines. The exhibition includes stories connected to Gainsborough as well as interactive resources so come along and explore!

The Centre is open every Tuesday 10am until 4pm, Saturday 10am until 4pm and Sunday 11am until 4pm. Last Admission is at 3.30pm. Group visits to the Heritage Centre can be arranged and staff will organise to open the Centre for a weekday or evening session. Standard membership of the Centre is £10 for a year running from January to December and life membership of the Centre is £100.
